Hello, my name is Sara

I graduated Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies. I concentrated on the disciplines: Horticulture, Art & Communications, and Social Sciences. I am passionate about growing communities, helping the environment, and engaging with people through creative methods. I believe a growth mindset is not only essential when it comes to working- but in other facets of life. I find fulfillment in meeting my potential and then expanding further beyond those limits. I love to push past my comfort zone and grow my understanding of the world in order to bring back what I learned to the projects I work on. I subscribe to the belief that it is more important to work to live, and not live to work. This is why I choose to work on things that bring me life!

My Story

In the middle of my college career, I found myself stuck. I was in a degree that did not match my educational expectations and values. I'm a firm believer that we have the ability to choose our problems, determine our futures, and control the outcome of our lives. I took a leap of faith and changed my major to Liberal Studies. This major offers students a tailored education that suits their career interests by granting them the freedom to choose from multiple curriculums. The abundant opportunities and the wealth of knowledge this unconventional major provides, allowed me to get the most out of my education and grow my greatest asset - my mind.

Since changing my major in the Spring of 2021, I was able to achieve things with a greater impact and quicker than ever before. It created an evolution in the way I create. It made my worldview and opinions - which I used to hold so tightly - become elastic. It transformed the way I see problems, brainstorm solutions, and navigate the world in and out of the classroom.
